there might be landmines outside the trodden path
Presumably there used to be a fence or hedge. Doesn't take a genius to work out. Assuming the sign hasn't been shopped in.
Strangely, you can see signs of people actualy stepping on the grass in front of the gate!
and why should i close it when it is very clearly shut?
