Why Do Japanese People Live So Long?

Japan has the oldest life expectancy in the world. Men live to 79 years old. Women live a little over 86 years old. After WWII, Japan had one of the lowest life expectancies in the world, which suggests it's not genetics that keeps them alive for so long. Actually, they don't live longer. The average ages are inflated because of the high number of centenarians that apprently don't exist. In a recent news article, it came out that the Japanese government can't find them - it seems their families haven't bothered to tell the goverment of their deaths.
