Research Claims 40% Of Twitter Is 'Pointless Babble'


In a new study conducted by Pear Analytics of San Antonio, Texas, USA, approximately 40% of posts on Twitter can be described as 'pointless babble.' The study sampled the Twitter stream every 30 minutes from 11am to 5pm for 10 days.

Yeah, I was going to mention that it's likely that more than 40% of actual, verbal personal interactions are pointless babble too. It's in our nature to chit-chat about trivial nonsense.
