For example: if you joined Twitter in July 2006, you're probably a professional geek. If you joined in December 2007, you're a blogger. If you joined in April 2009, you're Oprah Winfrey. And someone who joined in May 2009 is probably your Mum.

But what does technical ability have to do with having decided to use twitter? Some people really just don't like spending their free time posting inane aspects of their life 24/7 for people to comment on, whether they are technical geniuses or not.

There is nearly NOTHING twitter can do for professional techies that can't be done with other methods
Also the world of tech requires more words than twitter allows.
I'm a professional geek and I've never even been to the Twitter web site. It was a pointless idea from day one.
