Simply said, a black hole is a cosmic body with gravity so intense that nothing, not even light, can escape. General relativity predicts that if a star of more than about 3 solar masses has completely burned its nuclear fuel, it should collapse to a configuration known as a black hole.
Here are ten facts about black holes.

It makes very little sense to me that something which is imploding on all sides at every angle, arguably with equal gravity, momentum, and inertia, would form a one sided "object" in space. IMO, Black Holes shouldn't be seen as sink drains, but instead a force which pulls inward equally from all points of its compass. There is no "up" or "down", "front" side or "back" side, but only equal compression to a singular point of density. Our understanding of these masses, and the intricacies surrounding their circumstances, is still in its infancy.
