Nasubi

Nippon Television's producers have obviously never heard of the Geneva Convention. If they had, they wouldn't have treated poor Nasubi the way they did. They wouldn't have stripped him naked and shut him in an apartment, alone with no food, furniture, household goods, or entertainment.

They wouldn't have kept Nasubi there for over a year until he had won $10.000 in prizes by sending in postcards to contests. They wouldn't have cut him off from the world and they would have told him that he was on nation-wide TV.

This is from a few years ago. Japanese TV invented "reality" TV and it is almost certain that he did this with the understating of the conditions. The Wikipedia entry doesn't go into much detail (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/), however, it is generally believed that he went into the venture with full understanding and that it was a stunt for him to gain more notoriety (he is a comedian, nonetheless).

If you ever watched the shows, it was fairy obvious that he knew what he was in for although he was, obviously, humiliated and placed into situations that he probably wasn't keen on. In addition, how could they ever have taken him blindfolded into Korea through immigration control without him knowing where he was?
