Wings Tracking Shot

In motion picture terminology, the term tracking shot may refer to a shot in which the camera is mounted on a camera dolly, a crane, a Steadicam, via handheld camera operator, or by being panned on a tripod.

Here's a beautiful tracking shot from the 1927 movie Wings, an American silent war film set during the First World War directed by William A. Wellman and released by Paramount Pictures.
