Yes, "cute" is the right word indeed. As in "it's cute... but it's WRONG!"
Perhaps the generator could be built directly into the vehicle along with a supply of fuel for the generator (say, gasoline for example). You could give the vehicle a name that reflects the dual source of power (perhaps "hybrid"). Wait a minute...
