Navagio Beach

Navagio Beach on Zakynthos island in Greece is also known as Shipwreck Beach. It has been so named since 1983, when the alleged smuggler ship Panagiotis was wrecked on the beach while transporting cigarettes.

In poor weather, while being chased by the Greek navy, the ship sailed into water from which it could not escape. The crew fled, leaving the ship to be washed ashore, where she currently remains.
