Pseudis Paradoxa - The Paradoxical Frog That Shrinks As It Grows

Pseudis paradoxa, known as the paradoxical frog, is a species of hylid frog from South America. Its name refers to the very large tadpole which in turn becomes an ordinary-sized frog, only about a quarter of its former length.

When biologists discovered the paradoxical frog in the South American wild, they were confused. At first, they thought the adult frogs were actually the babies, which later grew into giant tadpoles, exactly the opposite of how every other frog species in the world develops.
