It's amusing that they are trying to demonstrate that flat maps are inaccurate by showing us flat maps.
Most of us have seen a globe and know the way common projections work. Looks like somebody at Buzzfeed has just seen a globe for the first time.
Every post title that promises to tell you the things you don't know should actually be read as a list of things that the author didn't know until today. Perhaps these authors should try to find out if their new found knowledge is common knowledge before they post.
