Malanka Festival: Villagers Wear Bizarre Costumes To Celebrate Orthodox New Year In Ukraine

Malanka is a Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian folk holiday celebrated on 13 January, which is New Year's Eve in accordance with the Julian calendar. Malanka involves dressing in elaborate costumes and going from house to house singing traditional songs.
