Why Is Modern Art So Bad?

For two millennia, great artists set the standard for beauty. Now those standards are gone. Modern Art is a competition between the ugly and the twisted; the most shocking wins. What happened?

How did the beautiful come to be reviled and bad taste come to be celebrated? Renowned artist Robert Florczak explains the history and the mystery behind this change and how it can be stopped and even reversed.

Excellent! Finally I feel that my conception of art is not outdated.

This guy's certainly impassioned and entitled to his opinion but his linear, progressive view of the history of western art up until the arrival of the Impressionists is simplistic and wrongheaded. Too, he employs qualitative terms which can't be backed up empirically; he states his opinions as if they were facts. Clearly he has no use for most art from the past 100 years and that's fine - but I find his nostalgic yearning for the good old days rather quaint and romantic. Hopefully his draconian views of what the art loving public should and should not "correctly" admire will not find much traction. Cheers - Max

I can't say I'm crazy about art that pees, but it's not a modern aberration. Manneken Pis has been taking his leak since the 1600s.

If you check the "Prager university"... well it is just "an online institution that creates five-minute educational videos based" Not really an university.

Actually, Max...the "good old days" were *good*. Too bad the garbage that is passed off as "art" these days...isn't.

Dave.... you want to live in the past and romanticize it, cool. Have fun, I say!
