This Quirky Dutch Town Has Streets Names Inspired By The Lord Of The Rings

Some neighborhoods are just blessed with the coolest street names ever. Take for example one particular district in Geldrop, a small normal-looking town in southern Netherlands, just 30 miles from where I live. All of its street names are actually taken out of J.R.R Tolkien's epic trilogy, The Lord of the Rings.

At the city center is Laan von Tolkien (Tolkien Avenue), from which the streets branch out with names of hobbits, elves, dwarves, maiar, Rohirrim, and even Ents. The streets are, quite surprisingly, well-organized according to the characters' relation to each other. As a plus, the town's charming elementary school is called De Hobbit.
