I live in Toronto, and so like other Torontonians I've been living through the curious phenomenon that is our mayor. He is a populist who was elected on a platform of stopping the "gravy train". His history of personal issues has been brought to a head by the announcement by our chief of police that a video has been unearthed during an investigation that is consistent with images reported in the media of a video that was thought to no longer exist - the video the media reported on allegedly showed images of the mayor smoking from a pipe of the variety crack users use - and making highly inappropriate comments. The mayor is in a heap of hot water and this afternoon he's going to make an announcement as to what he's going to do. Some of his zealous supporters don't seem concerned about his bad behaviour and continue to support him, but all our daily newspapers have come out saying he should resign and it looks like a chunk of his core support has abandoned ship. This is a very strange time in Canadian politics.
I agree with previous comment I live in Vancouver and we have our own share of dubious politicians. However Toronto's mayor has been too evasive about the entire incident which makes me even more suspicious. But hopefully the legal system will sort it out and the truth will prevail.
I live in Toronto and think Ford is a joke - never voted for him and never would . I must admit I look forward to his latest antics - he is entertaining beyond belief .
