There are a whole mess of highly intelligent animals you might not expect. If you really want a smart pet, don't get a dog or cat. Get a domesticated raven.

That must be something on your side, because the link works for me.
As a kid growing up in Massachusetts I had a pet raven. My dad found a juvenile raven sitting in a tree in a rainstorm. He picked it up and brought it home and gave it to me. They are very smart birds! Love them.
