You're probably aware of the court battles between Apple and Samsung. Jurors agreed and hit Samsung with over a billion dollars in damages. Not everything. It omits the really rather crucial point that Samsung is appealing on the grounds of juror misconduct. The head of the jury failed to disclose pertinent prior litigation to which he had been a party, and appears to have failed to follow specific instructions given to all jurors by the judge. This is a sufficiently big issue that it could force a complete retrial.

groklaw.net is a really pretty darn vital counterpoint to videos like this one, which absolutely does not give the complete story. The video's unquestioning acceptance of Apple's company line also rings alarm bells to me.

Strategically speaking, Apple could be in big trouble, long-term. Apple don't make any of their own parts. Samsung makes the whole supply chain right out to the shiny phones at the end. When an end producer like Apple is competing with and suing its own suppliers, who do you think is likely to win in the end?

I use a 10-year-old Samsung flip-phone, so I don't care.
