The
Burning Cup is a product, designed by London-based Ryan Jongwoo Choi, which helps prevent a beverage from cooling down due to heat released to the outside. The sodium acetate contained in the inside of the cup can keep the beverage heated for a period of time. As the beverage cools down, users can press the two buttons on the mug to activate the sodium acetate to warm up the mug again.

Don't I recall a similar concept being used in a can? It was a canned coffee drink where a similar chemical reaction was used to boil the coffee. The idea being that you could heat the drink wherever you happened to be when you wanted to drink it.
I remember it being on TV, but I've never seen it in the shops. As such I presume there was deemed to be no market. Likewise I really can't see there being a market for this mug. How long does it take for a hot coffee to become too cold to drink? If you haven't drunk it in that time what do you do? Poor it away and buy another or buy this?
