Hamburg, Germany-based art collective 'We Are Visual' have come up with something new - the 'Bahnradbahnrad,' or 'Rail Bike.' The Bahnradbahnrad is a combination between a bicycle and a tram and allows bike enthusiast to cycle to predestined locations.
You don't want to slip into tram rails when you're cycling. This cycling innovation changes the tram tracks of the city of Kassel, Germany into a new kind of bike lane.

Somehow, I doubt this German city is supporting this "innovation". But I have to give the guy kudos. His invention is unique and clearly unheard of. I mean, really... who would have thunk? Extra wheels on a bicycle to keep you from falling over?
as an art projet: funny...
as means for transportation:
deadly idiotic... I don't think you can outrun a train with it, and there are a lot of switches and non flush rail passages...
better use a standard bike with extra broad wheels, to avoid getting into the gaps of the rail...
Can't a normal bike go anywhere quickly, with the ability to avoid hazards quickly? This idea, while interesting as a pet project, also lends itself to several very dangerous limitations including sharing the track with giant fixed-course vehicles and an inherent inability to change course of direction? Cool at first but very alarming issues on second thought.
What purpose does this serve? Stoopid
Umm... guys... it's a joke. Obviously. I thought I had made that clear. Sigh...
