Lenticular clouds are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form at high altitudes, normally aligned perpendicular to the wind direction. Due to their shape, they have been offered as an explanation for some UFO sightings. While lenticular clouds are a rare spectacle for many people, if the conditions are right, it's not impossible to catch sight of them.
