Commodore Founder Jack Tramiel Dies At 83

Jack Tramiel, founder of Commodore International, has died aged 83. Tramiel was born as Jacek Trzmiel in Poland. In 1954 he founded the Commodore Portable Typewriter Company in Toronto, Canada. In 1955, the company was formally incorporated as Commodore Business Machines. In 1976 Commodore had been reorganized into Commodore International.

Commodore played a vital role in the development of the home–personal computer industry in the 1970s and 1980s. Commodore developed and marketed the world's best-selling desktop computer, the Commodore 64. Commodore later released the Amiga range of computers in 1985.
