Turning a basic wood pallet into a dreamy, colorful piece of furniture may not be as hard as you may think. You need to think outside the box and don't look at it only as firewood. More and more people buy it because of the design statement it makes, but many have great ideas and do it themselves.

The catch is that pallet wood tends to be really flimsy and cheap. They're only sturdy if the weight's evenly distributed across the top, so if you decide to make some of this furniture, be sure to put a sheet of plywood under the cushions or else your guests will crash through it.
