It was as if the ocean has been turned into a giant cup of cappuccino. This display of nature's occasional freakiness had people scratching their heads in Cape Town, South Africa. Sea Point Beach on the outskirts of the city was transformed into a foamy mess when the sea suddenly frothed itself into a frenzy.
It seems that a variety of impurities in the seawater combined at just the right amounts and, shaken and stirred up by the powerful motion of the waves, formed bubbles. The bubbles bonded together and before long it was as if some sort of chain reaction had taken place.

Greetings from Cape Town!
This often happens in our winter when North-Westerly storms churn up the sea. The wind then blows the foam across that particular road.
There are locations where this is a fairly common occurence. The word impurities may lead some to infer that the water is polluted, but this is not necessarily the case. The substances causing this effect can occur naturally.
