Brands Lost In Translation


When Western products are transliterated into Chinese, the results can range from poetic to the metaphysical. For example, Nestle is translated as Que Chao, literally meaning Sparrow's Nest. And Heineken is translated as Xi Li, meaning Happiness Power.

Well, Nestle does mean "little nest" and has the picture of the birds in the nest on its products.
