Not everyone has a four-digit PIN. Some banks in the US still allow for PINs up to six digits.

That's a big page! Did you know that you have to select the correct number (out of 9,999 possible) AND know the 16 digit account number too?Not likely, especially when the ATM machine cuts you off and keeps the card after 3 incorrect tries.Don't worry about it.
My pin has 8 characters (BOA) works on all their ATM's
Banks in the US advise changing your PIN to a 4 digit PIN before traveling to Europe, as ATMs there only accept 4 digit PINs. In the US, however, PINS can be much longer.
