EDWARD, An Electric Dicycle


EDWARD (Electric Diwheel With Active Rotation Damping) is a human operated diwheel designed and built by students at the University of Adelaide, Australia. The dicycle can transport a single passenger at up to 24.8 miles per hour (40 km/h).

Very clever, but...

Hugely complicated and heavy and takes up loads of road space. So why not just build a bicycle?

The "safety bicycle" hasn't changed in any really significant way in over a hundred years, for good reason: it was almost perfect from day one.

Will this be ubiquitous a century hence in the was the bicycle is today?
