There is one other curved yellow(ish) fruit out there, and the name is not that easy to remember: the plantain.
You are right but the plantain is actually a banana. They both are of the genus Musa.
There is no formal botanical distinction between bananas and plantains, and the use of either term is based purely on how the fruits are consumed.
