A dazzling tiara featuring emeralds believed to have belonged to Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, sold for a record £7.8 million ($12.9 million) to an anonymous buyer at Sotheby's. The tiara, composed of 11 Colombian pear-shaped emeralds and weighing over 500 carats, was commissioned by German prince Guido Henckel von Donnersmarck for his second wife Katharina.
