Gerard, What is the meaning for the Schoonenborch in Dutch? And what about pronunciation in english?

Kct, I understand you are referring to Fort Schoonenborch in Fortaleza, Brazil.

The fort was built by Dutch captain Matias Beck in 1649 for the West India Company , and called Fort Schoonenborch. It was reclaimed by the Portuguese in 1654, and the name was changed to Fortaleza da Nossa Senhora de Assunção.

Thanks Gerard! I'm living in Fortaleza and learning about its history. There are many descendents of Dutch people here at the present time.
