Over the past year, the 'botas vaqueras exóticas' phenomenon has overrun the rodeo dance floors and clubs of the city of Matehuala, Mexico. In search for the pointiest long-toed cowboy boots ever made.
Well, there was me, about to leave a comment about the Leningrad Cowboys, and I'm beaten to it.
I didn't think they'd been heard of west of the atlantic. Here, then, is a link to them, the start of "Leningrad Cowboys go America", "Kasakka". Despite the name, they're Finnish, not Russian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nl7_0DmwY-E&feature=related
They started out by poking fun at their old enemies across the border, then ended up hosting huge concerts along with the Red Army Choir.
