First Ever Aerial Footage Of Uncontacted Amazon Tribe

Extraordinary film footage narrated by movie star Gillian Anderson has launched Survival International's new campaign to protect some of the world's last uncontacted tribes. The film shows uncontacted Indians on the Brazil-Peru border in never-seen-before detail. It is the first-ever aerial footage of an uncontacted community.

The footage was filmed by the BBC in collaboration with the Brazilian government, for the new BBC 1 'Human Planet' series. Global coverage of the story has already pushed the Peruvian authorities into action - they have announced they will work with Brazil's Indian Affairs department to protect the area more effectively.

the little guy has a steel machete......so their must have been some contact...

So they couldn't have figured out how to make the steel for the machete themselves? Other civilisations managed to do it!

Indians in South America, eh? They're a long way from home.

Also, what does "uncontacted" mean? No other people has ever come into contact with these people before? Not even other tribes? Or does it just mean "not contacted by the Western world"?

Anyone else notice that they were shooting arrows at the plane? Kind of hostile, huh?...

Doesn't matter whether they've been contacted by "civilization" or not. The point is they need to left alone. They are better off than us in so many ways. No government or textbook religion. Just living with nature, the way man was intended.
