Hahaha, that is the dumbest comment ever. Probably from a creationist. Trust me "Anonymous" - water will evaporate very quickly in these circumstances.

Is "evaporate" the actual term? It's going from a liquid to a solid almost directly - Not disagreeing - just wondering.

Sublimation is when something goes directly from solid to vapour without becoming a liquid first, which is what happens to ice when it's cold enough (and what happens when your food gets freezer burned and your ice cubes shrink). I'm not sure this qualifies, though. Some of the water did freeze and hit the ground, but the rest went from liquid to vapour, which is indeed evaporation.
