Yoink

Yoink is a website that lets people give away things they don't need and automatically tells people in their suburb.

It's like eBay with a big twist: everything must be free, locally picked up and there is no bidding - the first person to 'Yoink' an item is the instant winner. The system then allows giver and getter to message one another to arrange a pick-up.

So somebody else has jumped the freecycle/freegle/whatever bandwaggon? Great, except I don't like the idea of this being first come first served. With the likes of freegle you offer an item and gets to choose who takes it. Whereas with Yoink most items will go to people who do nothing but sit and browse Yoink all day. And guess what? Most of those will probably be traders who will sell the good stuff on ebay and dump the worthless stuff.
