10 Funny Food Names

While menus aren't usually considered works of comedy, a particular dish's name - like 'bubble and squeak' or 'burgoo' - occasionally will elicit belly laughs.

Thanks to their unusual origins or mangled etymology, here are some food names that are a humorous change from the standard fare.

Had to laugh when I read this, but not for the reasons the author intended. Bubble and Squeak being "often pork, ham, sweet potatoes and root vegetables" made me laugh. B&S is indeed made from the left overs of a traditional roast meal, often christmas lunch. Therefore this would traditionally contain potatoes (not sweet ones) and brassicas (brussels sprouts if it's christmas) as it's too main ingredients. Bacon is often added as it goes well with sprouts or cabbage. Yes roots such as carrots or parsnips may be added, but the two *main* ingredients are potatoes and brassicas of some sort.

Honestly don't these people research anything?
