Officially, the Climate Prediction Center at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in the USA expects an 'active to extremely active' hurrican season in 2010. There is a 70% probability that the hurricane season will produce 14 to 23 names storms with top wind of 39 mph or higher.
Eight to 14 of those named storms are expected to be hurricanes with top winds of 74 mph or higher, and 3 to 7 could be major hurricanes with wind of at least 111 mph.
