Today is Saint Patrick's Day (Lá Fhéile Pádraig). Had it not been for a band of Irish marauders in the fifth century, March 17 might've been plain old Maewyn's Day - because Maewyn wouldn't have changed his name to Patrick, and he likely wouldn't have become a saint.

It's an old joke, but today's the day for it:
What did Saint Patrick say when he drove the snakes out of Ireland?
"Are you alright in the back there, lads?"
