Remnants Of The Biosphere

Biosphere 2 is a structure originally built to be a man-made, materially-closed ecological system in Oracle, Arizona, USA. Constructed between 1987 and 1991, it was used to explore the complex web of interactions within life systems in a structure that included five areas based on natural biomes and an agricultural area and human living/working space to study the interactions between humans, farming and technology with the rest of nature.

The entire site was sold to private developers in 2007, leaving the buildings still open for tours but rapidly falling apart. Photographer Noah Sheldon made a beautiful series of photos documenting the decrepit state of Biosphere 2.

Darn, the images have been removed. I love abandoned places.

I am sure it was a beautiful place before and i think restoring it is a much better idea than selling it to someone else. Thanks for posting.
