Flight 1549 Reconstruction

A 3D reconstruction of US Airways Flight 1549 that ditched into the Hudson river on January 15, 2009. Satellite imagery, elevation models and robust GIS mapping methods were utilized to create a vegetation model, terrain model and ground clutter.

Of all available audio tracks, only two are used, La Guardia Tower and New York TRACON Departure controller position. Radar data as well as the onboard Flight Data Recorder are utilized in constructing the flightpath of the aircraft.

I love the way the tower keeps trying to get him to a runway, even after he's in the water! Still amazing...still a miracle. www.satisfiedsole.com
