New Technologies

As time passes by new technologies emerge. In Ukraine, they have new technologies at their service. But sometimes it turns to be a bit too much. As with the monument to the Motherland, erected in Cherkassy city shortly after World War 2.

When the Soviet Union fell and its former states became independent, the whole infrastructure supporting different regions became interrupted. The gas used for the torch of the statue became too expensive to be burnt without any real purpose. So they shut it down. For years the statue was standing without a burning torch. But then... new technologies came into play.
