The Amazing Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge Nears Completion

Since construction began in 2005 the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge has been a project which has kept the world watching. It has had its pitfalls but things seem to be pretty much on schedule.

The latest milestone has been the completion - and joining in the middle - of the main arch. The supporting cables have now been removed and it is freestanding - all that is left is to build the pillars from it on which the road will stand.

I was at Hoover Dam a few nonths back as I did one of those Viatour tours which combined the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam.

Hoover Dam is a quite amazing structure.

To paraphrase Croc Dundee: That's not a bridget. That's a bridge. http://www.hoax-slayer.com/millau-viaduct-photo.html

You know, I wonder if there was a legal requirement for the Hoover Dam Bypass.
