New Mercedes-Benz SCL600

Lately some pictures of a new Mercedes-Benz are doing the rounds on the Internet. The pictures show the Mercedes-Benz SCL600 with some futuristic innovations such as a joystick in place of a steering wheel, a video monitor in place of a rear-view mirror, and swiveling gull-wing doors.

They are genuine photographs of a real car, DaimlerChrysler's F 200 concept study, but that car was constructed as a research vehicle. It isn't new either, since it was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1996.

This is a concept car introduced by Caimler-Chrysler as the F200 in 1996!!! It was followed by other futuristic variants - F300, F400 and F500. Definately nothin 'new', but a research vehicle for promoting new technologies.
