Ever heard of graisins, grapples, pluots, or lematos?
They are
genetically modified food, one of the great controversies of our time. Supporters point to wonderful possibilities of nutrient-packed food and solving world hunger, while critics fear unknown effects on human health.
But whatever one's opinion the matter, one thing is clear: some genetically modified fruits and vegetables are awfully intriguing! Here are 7 of the most interesting examples.

Pluots are pretty much my favorite food an eat at least one a day.
Grapples, sadly, are NOT a cross between a grape and an apple--they simply have grape "essence" or whatever sprayed on. Very disappointing.
Tangellos can't be GM: we used to get them (yes, they looked just like the ones in the picture provided) when I was a pre-teen kid. I'm 35 now.
I agree w/ TC Byrd that the Grapple isn't what they say - I think this thing was either poorly researched or completely made-up. I don't think that photograph of the lemato is valid either...
Grapples have the flavouring injected. That's it.
