Ever heard of these words?

blandiloquent = beautiful and flattering
umbrageous = shady
mellifluous = sweet-sounding
inspissate = to thicken
pelagic = related to the sea or ocean

The alphaDictionary says they are some of the 100 most beautiful words in English.

A lot of these words do sound beautiful, but there are a lot that make me cringe. . .like beatific, encomium. . .

However, they are all great words to use in writing. . .so maybe meaning has precedence over sound. . .
