It is often difficult to think of something different to give a friend or family member that will make a memorable gift. So don't! Stick with the old ideas but concentrate on the design of the object.
You won't find it too difficult, given some time, to take gifts from the mundane to the sublime. You still may not always get it right, but thinking about design will make the whole gift buying experience more enjoyable for you!
