The Quietest Place On Earth

In a world where something is always happening, people are always moving, and equipment is always buzzing, most people don't know what silence really is. But in Minnesota, USA, real silence can be found in a room.

The anechoic chamber at Orfield Laboratories is the Quietest Place on Earth, as awarded by the Guinness Book of World Records.

We have such a room in our university in Oldenburg, Germany, and it was a great experience being in there. You can't believe how relaxed you become after being in there for 5 minutes. It's like being in an other dimension, totally quiet and far from this world.

When I left I swore to build one into my house (if I will ever have one :), because it is simple great to have such a place to relax.
