A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of a big airport. As she would need to wait many hours, she decided to buy a book to spemd her time. She also bought a packet of cookies.
She sat down in an armchair to rest and read in peace. Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies lay, a man sat down in the next seat, opened his magazine and started reading...
Read the rest of The Cookies.

Douglas Adams tells this story (which is an old urban legend: http://thebookaholic.blogspot.com/2008/06/yes-but-whose-crisp-packet-was-it.html
in his novel So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish. Except his version is much funnier, has 100% less stock photography, and doesn't conclude with weird maxims.
It's a great story, though.
Agree with Anonymous. Douglas Adams totally rocked this already, and to much better effect.
I saw a film of this situation where a woman was so angry that a stranger was sharing her salad without her permission.
She found, after she finished, that she had sat down in the wrong booth at the restaurant.
Her own salad was untouched in the next booth.
I think any reasonable person would try to sort out the situation before continuing the meal or the snack.
