Am I missing something? This is a normal policy clause in the US. Lightning can blow out any electrical appliance.
Well in the terms of service for Ryanair flights the same "acts of God" line applies to clear them of some responsabilities.Think with me, considering the whole belief that God is omnipresent and omniscient EVERYTHING is an act of him!

Act of God is a legitimate, often used legal term here in the states. It is not religious in any way. It simply means events outside of human control.
If it's not religious, then why not call it "acts of nature" instead? Would the insurance company be able to prove that a deity exists AND actually threw down that lightning bolt?
