Peugeot Concept Vehicles: The Cars Of The Future

These vehicles are all entries to the Peugeot Design Contest 2008. Designers were asked to create a concept car for the cities of the future, concentrating on environmental awareness, social harmony, interactive mobility and economic efficiency.

The car pictured above is called the Peugeot Blade, and has a wind turbine attached to the back to charge its electric battery.

Er... a turbine? But this turbine is powered by the air wooshing by the car, which is propelled by its engine. So the engine is wasting energy turning the turbine... Environmental awareness, indeed.

Seems like a really promising car. Manufacturers are definitely searching for new and weird ways in getting alternative energies for cars, wonder if this would go into production.
