Music Tastes Link To Personality

Musical tastes and personality type are closely related, according to a study of more than 36,000 people from around the world. The research, which was carried out by Professor Adrian North of Heriot-Watt University, UK, is said to be the largest such study ever undertaken.

Over 36,000 people from all over the world were asked to rate 104 musical styles and also questioned about aspects of their personality.

It seems that people who like blues, soul, jazz, reggae, rap, and opera have a high self-esteem, and are creative and outgoing. People who like dance music are also creative and outgoing but are not gentle. Country and Western lovers are hardworking people, while those who listen to reggae, indie, and rock/heavy metal are not.

"Scientific" stereotypes? Oh come on...

I know lots of lazy people who love classical music.

I also know hard-working, extremely creative people who love indie, rock and heavy metal.

This study smells like biased, for me.

This is interesting. I seen some other sites about this, but nobody is giving me some information that i want to know: if i listen to music that increases my confidence how long will it take me to change? Can this person relate this to history? What about music and brain function, or the sound waves? I know tose aren't the best questions to ask, but they were the ones at the top of my head. There is a lot more information i want to know.
