Twitter

Well, I finally created a Twitter account. For the few of you who don't know what Twitter is, it's an online service, free for everyone, to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

I still don't know what Twitter can do for me so at the moment I'm just experimenting with the service. I probably don't have the time to keep everyone updated on everything I do, but I'm looking into the possibilities of using Twitter to promote this blog.

My Twitter account.

I am not convinced of Twitter's usefulness. I'm sure that it is very useful in some situations. I can't imagine why I'd ever need it.

I think there's a thing as too much connectivity.

There are many many times that I'm very grateful for my cell phone. But I remember all those many years I got along fine without it.

I like microblogging.

Theres a nice windows live plugin I use to twitter from. It makes it much more convenient to keep things updated.

Twitter does have some issues with load bearing but things seem to have been improving over the last few weeks.

That's awesome you're joining Twitter, Gerard. I'm sure you'll find your own unique spin on it.

My only advice is not to use it as a secondary RSS feed. When I started the AdFreak feed (twitter.com/adfreak), our followers were very clear on the fact that they wanted new and different content.

That said, it's a beautifully open-ended site, so ignore guys like me and just do what you want!
